Spring is a time of renewal, and it’s the perfect opportunity to give back to the community we call home. Each year, residents of Elizabeth Township come together for the Annual Roadside Clean Sweep, a volunteer effort focused on keeping our township roadsides clean, safe, and beautiful.
By dedicating just a few hours to picking up litter along local roads and ditches, volunteers make a visible impact across the community. Whether you participate individually or with a group, this is a simple way to take pride in where you live while helping protect the local environment.
The Elizabeth Township Roadside Clean Sweep will take place over a two-week period: Saturday, April 4 – Saturday, April 18, 2026 (2 weeks long)
Volunteers can register and pick up supplies at: Elizabeth Township Community Center (ETCC) Front Desk - 5760 E. Walnut Grove Rd., Troy, Ohio
ETCC Hours of Business:
When you register, you’ll receive all necessary supplies and instructions to participate.
Participating is simple and flexible:
You do not need to transport trash yourself. Township staff will handle collection once bags are placed roadside and pickup is scheduled.
Each material should be placed in separate clear bags before being left roadside.
All filled bags—both trash and recyclables—should be placed by the road and pickup must be scheduled by calling Nic Rice.
If you encounter illegal dumping, graffiti, tires, or bulky debris, report it rather than moving it. Report or schedule pickup: Nic Rice at 937-216-0579
Even small efforts create lasting impact:
Protects Wildlife and Natural Areas
Removing litter reduces harm to animals and prevents pollution in local waterways.
Improves Road Safety
Cleaner roadsides improve visibility and reduce hazards for drivers.
Strengthens Community Pride
Working together builds a stronger, more connected community.
The Elizabeth Township Roadside Clean Sweep is a straightforward way to give back. Whether you spend an hour or a full day, your effort contributes to a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming community.
Register at the Elizabeth Township Community Center, pick up your supplies, and choose a roadside area to clean.
Once your bags are filled, leave them by the roadside and call Nic Rice at 937-216-0579 for pickup.
